Tuesday August 5th 2025 marked a special day for Kids & Us. The new Markdale East Kids & Us officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony, then an unofficial ribbon cutting by some children who attend the centre and tours of the new centre. From left to right; Grey Highlands Councillor Nadia Dubyk, Kids & Us Executive Director Michelle Knott, Grey Highlands Councillor Tom Allwood, Kids & Us President Kelsey Bowers, Grey Highlands Mayor Paul McQueen, Grey County Warden Andrea Matrosovs, holding her grandaughter and Dane Nielsen, Grey Highlands Deputy Mayor.
The children were present at the ceremony as were other Grey Highlands council members, BWDSB staff, Grey County Staff, Kids & Us Board members and staff. Following the ceremony tours of the new childcare and EarlyON were given and light refreshments were served. It was a great day celebrating the new childcare.
